Signs giving orders are placed at the point where the order applies, or where it begins to apply.

D 15.2 Mandatory passing

This sign indicates that vehicles and large mopeds must pass on the side indicated by the arrow. However, this does not apply when driving into a stopping place, a bus lane, a parking lane, or similar areas.

D 16 Optional passing

This sign indicates that vehicles and large mopeds may pass on either side of the obstruction.


D 21 Cycle track

This sign indicates a track that must be used by cyclists and riders of small mopeds. Other vehicles are not permitted to use it. Pedestrians may use the cycle track where the rules allow.

A supplementary plate below the sign may indicate that small mopeds must use the carriageway instead.


D 22 Pedestrian path

This sign indicates a path that must be used by pedestrians and may only be used by pedestrians.


D 23 Bridle path

This sign indicates a path that must be used by horse riders and may only be used by horse riders.


D 26 Divided path

This sign indicates a path with separate lanes divided by road markings, a verge, or similar features. Each lane must be used only by the type of road user shown by the symbol.


D 27 Shared path

This sign indicates a path that must be used by the types of traffic shown by the symbols and may only be used by these users. Users of a shared path must show mutual consideration.

D 55 Minimum speed

This mandatory instruction applies to drivers, except cyclists and riders of small mopeds. It applies until it is cancelled by sign D 56, or until the distance shown on the supplementary plate has been covered.


D 56 End of minimum speed

This sign indicates the end of the minimum speed requirement.
